Hyatt Place Wichita State University

I had such a wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their genuine smiles and kind hospitality. Every single person I encountered was friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. The service here truly stands out and it felt like they cared about making my experience special. Complementary breakfast was so good! So many options and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, and I left feeling completely relaxed and taken care of. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be treated like family, this is the one!

Best hotel experience in Wichita for the price. Clean everywhere, good workout facilities and pretty good complimentary breakfast. Seemed like a very quiet hotel. On campus so it is in a good locale. Staff was friendly and welcoming. This will be a repeated booking in the future.

Absolutely one of the best Hyatt Place stays I’ve ever had — a true value champion. The room was exceptionally spacious, quiet, and well designed. Unlike many Hyatt Place layouts, the bed does not face the bathroom, which made the room feel far more comfortable and thoughtfully planned. The hard flooring was also a big plus. Breakfast was surprisingly good, well organized, and exceeded expectations for this brand. Everything throughout the stay was calm and peaceful, making it perfect for rest. What really stands out is the price-to-quality ratio — outstanding value for the cost. Easily the best Hyatt Place experience I’ve had, and highly recommended.

I had such a great experience at the Hyatt Hotel here, specifically because I wanted to order a drink for myself at the Placery in the front lobby and Alondra, the sales manager provided such an exceptional service when helping me get a drink. She was very respectful and welcoming and even went out of her to get my drink taken care of. She even offered my drink at no charge which made my expereince being there feel so personal. That small moment will remain with me for a little while because her service was great!

Drain pan in the shower sounds like a trash can lid constantly closing after you get done and listen to the shower head drip on it for 2 hours. Had to put a towel on top of it so I could to go sleep. Unit had a nice furnace unit instead of a window mini split. Although was just as loud everytime it turned on. Overall meets expectations for the Hyatt price point and typical hotel experience.

I travel to WSU every other month. Every stay at the Hyatt has been wonderful. The staff in particular are delightful. My only critique is that the rooms are VERY dark, and it's difficult on my older eyes to work on my computer at the beginning and end of the day

I went in to hang out at the bar for an assignment from a hospitality class. The bar area was very clean and had plenty of seating. It was a peaceful and the server Logan was very nice and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would happily go again!

We asked for a room with the tub so we were given a wheelchair accessible room. The room is very spacious with smooth floors and no carpet. The beds were very soft, which I found comfortable, but a very large guest or one requiring spine support might find them too soft. The tub is small, but so am I. However, the handrail at the back of the tub hit you in the head when you try to lean back in the tub. You can duck down awkwardly below it, but it is not a comfortable position to be in the tub. Considering using a towel to provide some cushioning and make it a more comfortable experience. The rooms come with feather comforters, and some pillows are synthetic. Some pillows are down, so if you are allergic, you will need to change this out. We requested avoidance of feathers and we still had to remake the beds and remove the pillows when we checked in. The replacement blankets are thin sheet-like knitted blankets, so if you tend to be cold, you will probably need three of them to make up for the lofty down comforters. We had a lovely view of ponds with tree sculptures were right outside our second floor window. The hotel is on the Wichita State campus and it was very convenient to get to anywhere on campus. Breakfast is available, but we did not eat there . I did grab a couple of boiled eggs, so I know those are available. There is a menu of convenience items available to borrow or purchase including an assortment of chips and candy and beverages, including beer and wine. So if you forgot a charger for your phone or you need a curling iron, they got you covered . It’s very thoughtful and a nice touch to have a hotel . There is a robot delivery service available for food which you can see going around campus. He’s kind of cute. the staff is very friendly and helpful, even offering to make us a reservation a local restaurant. The closet is tiny. We have one of the suitcases that has a hanging bag compacted inside it. Wish you just hang up in the closet. There was not really room to put it inside the closet along with our hanging clothing. But there are hooks available near the mirror so we were able to hang up the suitcase, garment shelves there. there are plenty of drawers and large open countertop. There is a coffee brewer and a small refrigerator. With an assortment of coffee and tea with a minimal amount of creamer and sweetener. There is a couch and table with plenty of space for spreading out. In the bathroom, the sink is small with no under sink storage to allow for wheelchair access accessibility. Unfortunately, this means that there is very little surface area on the sink for make up for toiletries. And there was nowhere for the towels to go other than rolled up sitting on the tiny sink top. They really should consider installing some hooks on the walls for clothing. The door has peepholes placed at standing height and wheelchair height so everyone can see who’s at the door. The door does have a lock and a door catch for safety. I would suggest that you use them when you’re in the room, because we were accidentally given the keys to the wrong room when we checked in and inadvertently opened the door on a sleeping guest who was not using the doorstop feature. Use it!! Accidents happen. Multiple people in that hotel are able to open your door with an electronic key. You should always be locking the door from the inside for your own safety. I gave it four stars because I chose the room specifically so I could have a tub but the layout of the bars made it in an uncomfortable experience. I understand that the bars are there for accessibility. But maybe they didn’t have to limit the tubs to the accessible rooms. Also, there is an indoor pool. It should be called a cold plunge because it was not heated at all and the room is only around 70 degrees or so, so even in the summer it appears like it would be a miserable experience. And there is no hot tub for warm up.
